American Pokeweed (Phytolacca americana)

Brief Description

A robust perennial herbaceous plant growing up to 10 feet tall, recognized by its reddish stems, large leaves, and clusters of berries that ripen from green to dark purple/black. All parts of the plant are poisonous, especially the roots and berries. It is native to eastern North America.
